A cornerstone of financial planning is the recognition that everyone's economic and life situation is unique. Personalized service is essential when matching clients with the right financial products and services.

A commitment to professionalism and the cooperative development of unique, personal goals forms the foundation of any strong financial plan.

A financial plan must reflect the stage of life its owner is in: whether purchasing a first home, financing a child’s college education or planning for retirement. A plan must reflect its owner’s personal or business situation, and highlight those financial products that best fit it. A custom-tailored financial plan must also be continually reviewed to measure its achievements against stated aims, and ensure the owner is comfortable everything is moving forward according to plan.

If you ever have questions about your plan or about specific financial products, contact me. We will set up a time to meet to review your needs and address any questions you may have. Contact me today.

Financial Advisor

After graduating with a degree in Economics, with minors in Finance and Political Science from Capital University, I moved back to West Virginia to begin my career as a Financial Advisor. After 7 years working as a commissioned broker for various bank programs, I transitioned to McKinley Investment Group. The firm grew and later transitioned to McKinley Carter Wealth Services.

Over those 15 years, I’ve worked as both a broker and as an advisor. I’ve been an employee, and worked closely with nearly all types of client and client situations. In 2007 I earned the Certified Financial Planner™ designation. After passing 5 exams that tested mastery in Investment Planning, Insurance & Financial Planning, Estate Planning, Tax Planning, and Retirement Planning, I sat for a 2 day, 10 hour comprehensive exam in which fewer than half of all applicants pass. Without question, this has provided me with more knowledge and experience for working with your financial situation than any other degree or certification could have.

With a strong background as an advisor, I always felt I could be of better service to my clients if I were both your advisor, as well as in charge of day to day operations. The buck didn’t always stop with me so to speak, and I thought that I could deliver superior advice and service at a firm of my own.

Like many of our clients, we do what we do so that we can take care of the truly important things in life. For me, that’s my daughter Aubrey, and my wife Christy. We are all lifelong residents of Wheeling, WV, and are happy to call this town home.

Financial Advisor

From my early teens, I knew that I wanted to work in the investment industry in some capacity.  In fact, I was able to convince my parents to take one day off per semester during my last two years of high school to spend the day with a friend of the family who was a stockbroker.  From there, I attended Robert Morris College (now University) graduating cum laude with a degree in Finance and Economics.

My formal education includes programs such as the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist Designation Program, the Certified Financial Planning Professional Program through the College for Financial Planning, and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Training program at the Center for Fiduciary Studies.  I attained my CFP® certification in 2006 and believe that this should serve as a prerequisite for being able to work directly with clients.  However, the best education that I continue to benefit from is the experience of working in this industry over the last sixteen years – and the desire to continue learning.

Through a lot of hard work, sacrifice, and some good fortune, I have been blessed to spend my career working with families to achieve their financial goals… and could not imagine a more rewarding way to spend my days.

My wife Amanda and I have made our home in Wheeling and spend the bulk of our “free time” with our children Jack, Andrea, and Nicholas.  If I can find time, I enjoy charcuterie, coaching youth wrestling, and being outdoors.

Operations Administrator

I became the Operations Assistant at Fort Henry Capital in July of 2014.  Before that, I worked at the Sledd Company, in Wheeling, WV, for 17 years as their Accounts Receivable Manager.  A valuable lesson that I have learned, from being an Accounts Receivable Manager, is to establish good relationships with your clients because not every solution fits every client.

I am a graduate of West Liberty University, and I’m currently enrolled at the College for Financial Planning, studying to become a Registered Paraplanner.

Originally from Moundsville, WV, I’ve made Wheeling my home.  My husband, Donnie, is an Insurance Agent and he manages a St. Clairsville, OH office and we have two children: Ashley and Austin who keep us very busy.   Outside of work, I’m a huge WV Mountaineer Fan and love to spend my summer days going fishing with my family.
